U.S. Release For Sigur Rós' Agaetis Byrjun
Band to kick off first North American tour at Coachella fest The Icelandic band Sigur Rós' acclaimed second album, Agaetis Byrjun will finally see U.S. release in late April. First released in Iceland in 1999, the album will be the debut release from the new PIAS AMERICA label in association with MCA Records; a favorite of Radiohead fans, it has received praise in publications ranging from Spin to the New York Times. The group will begin a six-date U.S. tour their first on April 28 at the Coachella Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif. They'll also play Los Angeles' John Anson Ford Theatre on May 1;, San Francisco's The Fillmore on May 2; Toronto's Palais Royale, May 4; Chicago's Park West, May 6; and New York's Angel Orensanz Center, May 8.
